Launched in 2000, the Positive Futures was a national sports and activity based social inclusion programme, funded by the Home Office Crime
and Drug Strategy Directorate.

For 10 years, Substance played a central role in supporting over 100 local projects delivering the programme, working as the National evaluation partner. Positive Futures aimed to support young people living in some of the most socially and economically deprived communities in the country by helping them to find routes back into education, volunteering and employment.

Knowing the Score, a case study based research paper was written by the Substance research team for the Home Office and launched in 2006.
